Clouds beneath an
endless sky,
Bright and blue but
barely shy,
Dance in tune to the
winds as gay,
And hope the wind
shall forever stay.
They'd bulge and
fade, like a child's toy.
They'd grow and
spread into a boy.
Never knowing that
the life at ease
Will last until its
gone with the breeze
For when the air
moves no more,
They'd be dazed, and
then sore.
They'd halt and
thunder
They'd grumble and
plunder,
They'd sweat it all
out and then
They'd look around
To the havoc on
ground,
No way to share
one's pain.
They'd learn and
sigh that love
Was not the wind but
the sky above.
Who'd stand beside
and pour starlight
Even on a moonless
night.
The wind's nigh but
a willful tide
A guest of autumn at
best
Rainmakers on
eternity's side
There's a sky for
your rest.
