Stranger in darkness

Slow down, dear dream
I see those colours too
I know the vivid will blur
And, my forgetful, you also knew.
Lend me a moment from your haste,
Spare me the wishful thought
You'd tell me of what might be,
While I'm wary of what not.

Slow down, dear dream
I feel the warmth in blue
We can hope it lasts, of course
But it's easier when it's new
Dream o' mine, right you're
I rust in memories and pride
Save me from the fade
So I'd have dreamt till I died

Almost a shed,
Under which to hide.
Almost a great divide.

For Yesterday

I shed a solitary tear,
A teardrop from the corner
Of my constricted eyes,
In remembrance of a dream,
The teardrop rolls down
Rolls down my cheek and years
Till there are no memories
Of what was once
Several certainties
Waiting for us
To live them out.
Memories of that dream, I remember
And shed a solitary tear
A teardrop dense, despaired
From the depth of my eyes
Drowning in the darkness
The teardrop rolls down
Rolls down my cheek and years
Till there is a light
That proves my pride
Hid little of worth
Then I will blame
Myself with shame.
But the light won't shine, I foresee
And shed a solitary tear
A teardrop coarse, crisp
From the core of my eyes
Cutting through the rain
The teardrop rolls down
Rolls down my cheek and years
Till there are no clouds
Leaving a void
With which to blend
Like petals fallen
Never to be back again,
Colours of that flower, I dream
And shed a solitary tear.

Rainmakers

Clouds beneath an endless sky,
Bright and blue but barely shy,
Dance in tune to the winds as gay,
And hope the wind shall forever stay.
They'd bulge and fade, like a child's toy.
They'd grow and spread into a boy.
Never knowing that the life at ease
Will last until its gone with the breeze
For when the air moves no more,
They'd be dazed, and then sore.

They'd halt and thunder
They'd grumble and plunder,
They'd sweat it all out and then
They'd look around
To the havoc on ground,
No way to share one's pain.

They'd learn and sigh that love
Was not the wind but the sky above.
Who'd stand beside and pour starlight
Even on a moonless night.
The wind's nigh but a willful tide
A guest of autumn at best
Rainmakers on eternity's side
There's a sky for your rest.
